The first
International Day of Yoga celebration in 2015 was at New Delhi's Rajpath. The
event made it to the Guinness World Records with 35,985 participants performing
asanas at one venue and 84 nationalities being part of it.
Yoga is an ancient
physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. Recognising
its universal appeal, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga by resolution 69/131
